Today I took a slight detour from the battlefield and visited a Militaria Fair at the Écausseville Airship Hanger. It was truly a sight to behold. It was massive and was built in 1917 and is the only one left standing in France.

I then moved onto Azeville Battery to witness a parachute drop using WW2 style equipment and a Dakota transport plane. It was very busy. There were four sticks of men jumping in 20 minute intervals for each two. A stick of paratroopers is a line of men who jump out together. They jumped in reproduction WW2 parachutes and Uniforms.

Finally, I visited Sainte Mere Eglise. The town is always busy at this time of year getting ready for the celebrations. It is the center of American D-Day visitors, and many current US Military soldiers also visit as ambassadors. The sun was still shinning, and I was able to meet with friends who are also here for the celebrations.

Tomorrow I am visiting the British and Canadian Sectors.
